Indian exporters are likely to ship out around 10,000 tn non-basmati rice to China by the end of this financial year. A delegation from India, comprising senior officials from the government and the rice industry visited China in October-end to explore opportunities for the export of Indian non-basmati rice. India exported its first consignment of non-basmati 5% broken rice to China from Nagpur in September. Last month, China added five more rice mills to the list of accredited units that can export non-basmati rice to the country, taking the total count to 24.
