India groundnut exports during 2016-17 (Apr-Mar) surged 33.6% on year to 725,266 tonne, buoyed by a significant rise in imports from Vietnam. Total exports of the groundnut during the period increased due to a weak rupee against the dollar and higher prices of the oilseed in US and Argentina. Groundnut exports during the financial year ending March rise to 54.5 billion rupees from 40.8 billion rupees in the previous year.
