The price of 25% broken non-basmati rice exported from India averaged around $356 a tn during Jan-Jul, up 5.7% from a year ago, said FAO. In July, the average price of the grain was $379 a tn, up from $375 a tn during June. Demand for non-basmati rice from India has been good as it is cheaper compared to its competitors. Average price of 25% broken variety of non-basmati rice from Thailand is at $383 a tn during Jan-Jul period, down 2.5% from a year ago. The same variety from Pakistan was sold at $355 a tn during Jan-Jul, up 7.3% from a year ago.
