arrivals of the new crop of soybean in spot markets across the country were estimated at 250,000 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), down from 375,000 bags. In Madhya Pradesh, the arrivals are seen at just 50,000 bags as against 200,000 bags. In other soybean producing states like Rajasthan and Maharashtra, the arrivals were seen at 100,000 bags each. Arrivals were unchanged in Maharashtra, while it was down by 25,000 bags in Rajasthan. Arrivals of soybean in Madhya Pradesh have declined sharply because some markets are closed on account of Amavasya. Some markets in Maharashtra are also shut due to Amavasya. Moisture content in the new crop arrivals are in the tune of 10-13% currently, compared with 20%.
