Price of maize in key wholesale markets of Purnea and Davangere remained largely unchanged. In Purnea, the key market for maize in Bihar, the coarse grain was sold at around 1,400 rupees per 100 kg, largely unchanged from the previous close. Prices have stabilised at the current level, after rising from 1,380-1,390 rupees early October. In Davangere, Karnataka, price of maize was at 1,100-1,450 rupees pe 100 kg, depending on quality amid steady arrivals of 3,000 bags. Earlier this month, new crop arrival with higher moisture content has started trickling in some parts of Karnataka, a leading grower of the coarse grain in the kharif season.
