Wheat prices rise slightly in the key wholesale Delhi market due to slight improvement in demand. In the spot markets, wheat prices have been range-bound for the last one month due to weak trade. Despite the lean arrival season, demand for wheat has been subdued as private sector companies have already built inventories following a bumper output in 2016-17 (Jul-Jun). Cheap availability of the grain in global markets has also kept domestic prices down.
