India sugar prices down in most spot markets, NCDEX on poor demand.

Subdued demand from bulk buyers pulled sugar prices down in most key wholesale markets in the country. NCDEX July contract down 1.9%. Sugar sold 5 rupees down in Mumbai and in Kolhapur and in Muzaffarnagar, prices of M-grade sugar fell by 10 rupees. The major reason behind the falling sugar prices is timely rains. A good monsoon will naturally result in higher production. The southwest monsoon current that has remained stationary over central India is likely to pick up pace and cover the entire region by the end of this month. Southwest monsoon current is likely to advance into northern India in the first week of July.
