India sugar rise in demand lifts prices in spot markets; view bullish.

Prices of sugar rise in the wholesale markets of the country, owing to pent-up demand for the sugar. M-grade sugar in Delhi up 10 rupees, and in Muzaffarnagar up 15 rupees. Prices in Kolhapur rise by 25 rupees to 3,965 rupees per 100 kg. Demand is largely subdued for the whole of last month, as traders were not making purchases ahead of the implementation of the GST. In the near-to-medium term, sugar prices are seen rising due to expectations of high demand and slow despatches.
