Rice export prices in India remained constant this week, despite greater supply and a stronger currency, while rates in Vietnam were pushed down by rising stockpiles.
The 5 percent broken parboiled type from top exporter India was priced at $367 to $370 per tonne this week, unchanged from the previous week.
Local supplies will grow and prices will stay under pressure, according to one exporter, because the government has prolonged subsidised food grain distribution by six months.
