Indonesian government has allowed state-owned food logistics firm Bulog to import 500,000 tn of rice from six countries. Normally, Indonesia imports medium-quality rice only from Thailand and Vietnam. Besides these, the government has now allowed Bulog to import rice from Myanmar, Cambodia, Pakistan and India. However, Nurwan said Bulog must import the rice latest by Feb 28. Given the limited time, Bulog has decided to import 346,000 tn, or 69.2% of the 500,000 tn of rice, from Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan and India
