Indore soybean up on hopes of veg oil import duty hike.

Prices of soybean in Indore rise 10-15 rupees as traders expect the government to hike import duty on refined and crude vegetable oils. The consumer affairs secretary has written to the finance ministry, opposing the farm ministry proposal to increase the import duty on edible oils. Weak sowing in Madhya Pradesh also supported prices, as around 10-15% of farmers who had sown soybean last year have shifted to more profitable crops such as cotton this season.
