Prices of wheat rose marginally in the benchmark market of Indore because of a rise in demand ahead of Diwali. Arrivals in Indore are at 3,000 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), largely unchanged from the previous day. Gains in prices are capped because the hope of the government raising the import duty on wheat this week diminished. The government is now likely to raise import duty on the grain after Diwali.
