Jordan rejects 240 tn rice from India on high pesticide residue.

Jordan agriculture ministry has rejected permission to offload 12 containers of 270 tn of basmati rice from India as the pesticide residue in rice samples were higher than the maximum level. Jordan has decided to adopt the European Union norm for tricyclazole residue, which stands at 0.01 parts per million, while the permitted level in India is 3 parts per million.
