IMD’s Agrimet has advised farmers in Karnataka to spray insecticide on maize and jowar crops to control menace of shoot fly in affected areas. Farmers are advised to remove the affected plants completely and apply insecticide after spotting shoot fly attack on the plants. These attacks are common when the weather turns humid after rains.
