Kazakh wheat exports switched from Iran to Central Asian markets.

According to the Kazakhstan Railway Company, rail shipments of grain and flour in grain equivalent increased by more than 800 KMT in 2017 against 2016. 8.9 MMT of grain and 3.2 MMT of flour were loaded in 2017. The grain loadings included 3.1 MMT within the country and 5.8 MMT for export, while the flour loadings included 0.8 MMT within the country and 2.4 MMT for export. Loadings of grain and milling products in grain equivalent totaled 13.5 MMT in 2017, or 6.3% more than in 2016. The year-on-year gain in grain equivalent was 805 KMT, including a 547 KMT rise in export shipments.
