Area under the soybean crop across the country for the 2017-18 kharif season is at 26,900 ha till now, up 16.5% on year. Acreage is 1.8% lower than the five-year average for the period of 27,400 ha. Sowing has risen due to a 12.1% year-on-year rise in acreage in Arunachal Pradesh at 3,700 ha, and in Karnataka at 2,000 ha.
