Madhya Pradesh buys 231 tn of wheat in first two days of procurement.

Wheat in the first two days of procurement at the minimum support price of 1,735 rupees per 100 kg. Procurement of wheat in Madhya Pradesh began on March 15, a fortnight before the beginning of the new marketing year, due to high supplies from the fresh crop. As of now, procurement is underway in Indore and Ujjain, and will start at several other centres in the coming days. For 2018-19 (Apr-Mar), the Centre has fixed the minimum support price of wheat at 1,735 rupees per 100 kg, but the Madhya Pradesh chief minister had promised farmers a bonus of 265 rupees over and above the support price.
