Madhya Pradesh government has started a month-long drive to register new farmers for the procurement of paddy grown in 2017-18 (Jul-Jun) kharif season. During the period of registration, the government will make arrangements for storage and logistics, and verify data of previously-registered farmers, adding the registration will end on Oct 11. The registered farmers will be intimated about the date and centre of the procurement for the crop through messages on mobile phones. The two-month long procurement of paddy at the minimum support price will begin from Nov 15.
