The Maharashtra government has sought the Centre’s approval to extend the deadline for procurement of urad and maize for the 2017-18 kharif season. For procurement of maize the state has sought extension of the deadline to Jan 31. The deadline for procurement was Dec 31. The state government has also sought that the procurement target for urad be increased to 62,500 tn from 52,000 tn.
