Maize continues to rise on weak supply Weak supply amid upbeat demand from the livestock-feed sector supported maize prices in key markets.
In Bengaluru, the benchmark market, maize sold for 2,500-2,550 rupees per 100 kg, up 50 rupees from previous day. Supply is lower owing to a smaller crop this rabi season.
Attack of armyworm pest in Andhra Pradesh and unfavourable weather conditions in key producing regions weighed on output. The rabi maize contract on the NCDEX was flat at 1,910 rupees per 100 kg of maize increased in domestic markets, while wheat and rice traded largely unchanged from the previous day of trade.
