Maize prices in key spot markets fell in thin trade, with most market participants away for New Year celebrations. Prices of maize in Davangere, a key market in Karnataka, fell 25 rupees to 1,675 rupees per 100 kg. Arrivals nearly halved to 4,000 bags (1 bag = 100 kg). In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the coarse cereal was sold at 1,625 rupees per 100 kg, down 25 rupees. Arrivals were pegged at 200 bags compared with 500 bags on previous arrival.
