Maize prices fall in Purnea as arrivals rise on 23 Apr.

Maize prices fell in Purnea, the benchmark market, in Bihar due to rise in arrivals. About 8,000 tn of maize arrived, up from 7,000 tn on the previous day. Maize arrivals have increased now due to improved weather conditions, the grain contains 15-16% moisture and some of it also has the ideal 14% moisture content. Maize harvesting in the state delayed this year due to lower than minimum temperatures during the growing stage and untimely rains afterwards. At this time last year, arrivals were at around 1,500-2,000 bags.
