Mustard seed prices in Jaipur, Rajasthan, fell due to rise in supply. Stockists are offloading inventories ahead of the arrival of new crop later this month. Arrivals across India were pegged at 130,000 bags (1 bag = 85 kg), compared with 110,000 bags. In Jaipur, the oilseed sold for 4,070-4,075 rupees per 100 kg, down 10-15 rupees from the previous day. On NCDEX, however, the February mustard seed contract was largely flat at 3,847 rupees per 100 kg.
Rape oil production in Russia in the past five months of the 2018/19 season was up 72.3% year-on-year at 283.1 KMT against 164.3 KMT in the same period last year. Russia produced 63 KMT of rape oil in November 2018, or 11.3% more than in the previous month and up 51% from November 2017. For a fourth consecutive month this season, its production has been setting new records for the respective month. Rape oil output in the 2018/19 season will be at least 500 KMT. This will be contributed to by the country’s all-time heaviest rapeseed crop along with favorable market prices for rapeseed products.
