NCDEX maize down on weak demand.

Futures contracts of maize ended down on the NCDEX due to weak demand from bulk buyers and feed industry. The most-active August contract of maize ended down 0.4% from the previous close. Demand for maize is weak because most of the buyers from feed industry have already built their stocks and are now waiting for kharif crop. The kharif sowing of the grain, however, is lagging behind the last year levels due to low availability of water in Telagana and Karnataka the major producers of kharif maize.
