NCDEX sugar down over 1% on spot market cues.

Futures contracts of sugar fell over 1% taking cues from key spot markets where prices fell due to an increase in selling pressure on mills. Mills are lowering prices as they have to liquidate stocks to make way for the rising supplies from the new season’s crop. In the new season started Oct 1, sugar mills in the country have produced 1.37 mln tn of the sweetener as of Nov 15, up 79% from 767,000 tn in the year-ago period.
