Futures contracts of wheat fell nearly 1% on NCDEX due to concerns that the upcoming harvest may glut markets with supplies amid high stock from previous crop. India’s wheat output in 2017-18 (Jul-Jun) is likely to hit a fresh high of 100 mln tn. In the previous year, the country witnessed a bumper wheat crop of 98.4 mln tn. Wheat sowing is almost over in most regions and harvesting is likely to start in Madhya Pradesh at the beginning of March.
