Following suggestions by irrigation authorities not to cultivate paddy in Rabi (Yasangi) under Flood Flow Canal (Yasangi), farmers are worried as it is the main crop in Karimnagar. In view of the installation of lifts at three places for reverse pumping to SRSP from Yellampalli project as wells as non-availability of water as expected in SRSP, it is not possible to release water into FFC and hence farmers are asked to desist from cultivation. About 10,000 acres of fertile land likely to be affected.
