Odisha assembly passes resolution to take up paddy MSP issue with President.

The state assembly on Thursday passed a resolution to take up the issue of raise in minimum support price (MPS) of paddy with President Ram Nath Kovind. As normalcy returned to the house after two days of logjam, except for disruption in the question hour by the BJP MLAs over crop loss, the members took part in a debate on the MSP. The Congress and BJD slammed the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not giving time to to a house committee to discuss the MSP issue. The BJP defended the Centre. The assembly on March 25 had passed a resolution to hike the MSP for paddy to Rs 2930 per quintal and a house panel had sought an appointment with the PM to discuss the issue.
