Over 65.08 lakh tonnes wheat procured in Haryana at MSP by govt agencies.

Govt procuring agencies and traders have purchased more than 65.08 lakh tonnes of wheat from farmers in Haryana during the ongoing procurement season. The procurement process, which started on April 1, is running smoothly in the mandis, said a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. Haryana is targeting wheat arrival of over 75 lakh tonnes this Rabi season. Giving details of the wheat procured by government agencies, over 26.29 lakh MT has been procured by Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) has purchased of wheat, whereas Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has purchased more than 18.73 lakh MT of wheat. Sirsa is leading in wheat arrival where over 7.59 lakh MT wheat has been procured followed by district Karnal, which recorded more than 7.12 lakh MT wheat arrival. Similarly, over 6.22 lakh MT wheat have been procured in Jind, over 5.90 lakh MT in Kaithal and around 4.96 lakh MT in Fatehabad.
