In Amritsar, Punjab, prices of basmati 1121 paddy slumped on quality concerns. Prices fell 100 rupees to 3,400-3,500 rupees per 100 kg. Prices of non-basmati varieties of paddy were steady as government agencies have been procuring the food grain at the Centre-mandated minimum support price.
