Odisha government has set a target of procuring 53 lakh quintals of rice this year and will start it for the kharif season from November 1. Chief Secretray said 44 lakh quintals of paddy will be collected in kharif marketing season while 9 lakh quintals will be collected in Rabi season. The purchase outlets will be opened across the state by November and paddy procurement would continue till April, 2018.
