About 1264 KMT of wheat was exported from Ukraine in December, or 10% less than in the same month last year (1409 KMT). In total, Ukrainian exporters supplied abroad some 11.3 MMT of wheat in the first half of the current season. This is just a slightly smaller volume than at the same time last marketing year (11.5 MMT was in July-December 2016/17). Indonesia has become the main end market for Ukrainian wheat this season. The country absorbed 16% of total supplies at the time, or roughly 1.8 MMT – this is already 11% more than exported there during the whole last season. Bangladesh and Egypt also remain major importers of wheat from Ukraine. Active shipments continue to the market of Turkey.
