IMD has advised farmers in western part of Punjab to undertake weeding operation in maize fields and complete sowing of summer moong. It has also asked growers in the region to complete transplanting of rice and continue sowing of vegetables like bottle gourd, bitter gourd, and cauliflower. In the season so far, the state has received 167.5 mm rainfall, 17% above normal.
