Heavy rains in Australia may damage up to 4 mln tn wheat crop, which is yet to be harvested. Storm and heavy rainfall are likely over most of Victoria and parts of south Australia over the coming days and they pose a major threat to the country’s ongoing grain harvest. Earlier, dry weather conditions in the country had hurt wheat crop and the output was estimated to fall nearly 35% on year. Rains in the coming days may further hit Australia’s wheat production and may push prices higher.
