As per Govt Acreage and SEA of India’s latest crop survey, Govt is projecting total crop this year will set at around 8.5 MMT.
The mustard final acreage can be in between 6700 to 6800 thousand hectares whereas soybean acreage was in 11000 thousand hectares this year with 10.23 MMT crop & mustard production projected to be higher by 17% -20% from last year.
The weather, Post monsoon rains were not that much good for the Rabi crops and Northern India faced below normal temperature & cold conditions and frost may slightly impact the yield. However, no damaged reported yet to Rapeseed crop. Also, The western India is not been impacted by any major disturbances with all favourable condition.
High soybean prices in peak season have supported significant improvement in the mustard area this year.
Along with this, Increase export Incentives of oil-meals, Bhavanater & other state bonus with High MSP, High production with high prices in major oilseeds has significantly encouraged farmers to shift Rapeseed this year compared to chickpeas, this year Chickpea area down by 10%.
