India rice basmati prices firmed up at the wholesale grains market today on the back of rising demand against restricted supplies from producing belts. However, other grains traded flat in thin trade. Besides rising demand from retailers as well as rice mills, fall in arrivals from producing regions, mainly pushed up rice basmati prices.
