Russia wheat export too slow to hit forecast level.

Russia’s exports of wheat are progressing at a very slow pace to reach the estimated record level of 31.5 mln tn in 2017-18. Russia would be the world’s largest wheat exporter in 2017-18 if the shipments touch 31.5 mln tn. Wheat exports from Russia, which began in July, are at 5.7 mln tn as of Aug 21 against 5.95 mln tn during Jul-Aug last year. Russia is expected to produce 77.5 mln tn wheat in 2017-18, according to USDA’s estimate.
