Russia exported 4.1 million tonnes of corn in the first eight months of 2017-18, 2% less than in the same period in 2016-17. Russian corn exports decreased 11% in April 2018 compared to the previous month. However, the April total was twice as high as corn exports in April 2017. The top importer of Russian corn in 2017-18 is Turkey, which has brought in 1.5 million tonnes in the first eight months of this marketing year. It said the near record exports are occurring despite a noticeable decline in Russian corn production in 2017. In 2016-17, Russia exported a record 5.65 million tonnes of corn.
