Spot wheat prices rise in Kota, unchanged in Indore.

Prices of wheat rose today in Kota, the key wholesale market, due to firm demand ahead of monsoon and lower arrivals as compared to last year. On an average, daily arrivals in Kota are about 12,000 bags (1 bag = 100 kg) compared to around 20,000 bags at this time last year, local trader Aniket Mehta said. Supplies are down as crop was lower and rains have also disrupted arrivals. Wheat arrivals in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore market have also reduced to 2,500 bags per day against nearly 8,000 bags last year.
