An infestation of stem borer and gundhi bug has been spotted on the paddy crop in the central Narmada region of Madhya Pradesh. Humid weather is conducive for its outbreak. Agrimet has advised farmers to use insecticide to control the spread of infestation. Farmers in the state have sown paddy over 2.02 mln ha as of Sep 7, down 2.8% from last year.
