Sugar down in north India on low buys, steady in Maharashtra.

Sluggish demand from bulk buyers continued to drag prices of sugar lower in the key wholesale markets of north India. M-grade sugar is sold down 10 rupees in Delhi and Muzaffarnagar. Demand has fallen significantly as rainfall is likely in the coming days. Buyers prefers to keep only limited stock with them as sugar attracts moisture during monsoon. Buyers are only making need-based purchases as of now on expectations of rains. Earlier, a special cash margin of 25% is levied on buy positions of all sugar contracts.
