Sugar up in north India on bargain buys, flat in Maharashtra.

In the key wholesale markets of north India Muzaffarnagar and Delhi prices of sugar rise slightly because traders bought at a bargain, as well as due to a pick-up in demand towards the end of the month. Prices of sugar had fallen earlier due to poor demand, as traders and bulk buyers were cautious ahead of the implementation of the GST from July 1. Prices of sugar, however, remained unchanged today in the key wholesale markets of Mumbai and Kolhapur due to thin trade. Prices in these markets are likely to remain bearish, as traders are trying to sell their stocks before the implementation of goods and services tax. NCDEX, sugar contracts trading flat due to mixed cues from spot markets.
