Sugar up in north India on high demand, flat in Maharashtra.

Prices of sugar rise in the wholesale markets of north India Muzaffarnagar and Delhi by 15 rupees because of increase demand. Demand for sugar subdued for over two weeks because of concerns of GST and prices had fallen by a cumulative 125 rupees per 100 kg. Increase in demand has now shown up in the markets and prices have improved in the last two three trading sessions. Prices of sugar remained unchanged in wholesale markets of Mumbai and Kolhapur due to subdued trade ahead of the GST rollout. Demand is subdued in the markets as traders do not want to hold stocks ahead of the GST rollout on July 1.
