Taiwan’s MFIG buys 130000 MT of Brazilian corn.

Taiwan’s feed industry procurement association MFIG purchased about 130,000 tonnes of corn likely to be sourced from Brazil in an international tender on 23 august. The tender had sought October/November shipment depending on origin. The corn was purchased in two 65,000 tonne consignments. The first consignment was bought at a premium of 114.60 U.S. cents c&f over the Chicago December 2017 corn contract. MFIG had sought the first consignment for shipment between Oct. 11 and Oct. 30 if the corn was sourced from Brazil, Argentina or the U.S. Gulf. If sourced from the U.S. Pacific North West coast or South Africa, shipment was sought between Oct. 26 and Nov. 14. The second consignment was bought at a premium of 105.68 U.S. cents c&f over the Chicago March 2018 corn contract. The second consignment had been sought from Brazil only for shipment between Nov. 2 and Nov. 21.
