The civil supplies department of the Telangana government has set a target of purchasing 27 MMT of paddy initially for this kharif season. A state government release said 2,800 purchase centres would be established for the purpose across the state. The paddy procurement for the kharif season begins next month and Commissioner of Civil Supplies has asked officials to make arrangements accordingly for the benefit of farmers.
