Civil supplies commissioner Akun Sabharwal on Saturday said that the state government will soon release Rs 1,000 crore for procurement of paddy. He directed officials to clear the farmers’ bills immediately after procuring the paddy. Documentation should be completed in time to release payments. Double tokens should be issued to the farmers, if officials notice the moisture content in the paddy. Rice millers should complete their targets as per schedule and custom milling should take up immediately.
