Paddy crop ready for harvesting was submerged in many villages of Peddemul mandal on account of thunder storm and hail storm experienced in the villages on May 13. In the afternoon, strong gales swept across the region rising a lot of dust. It was followed by thunder showers and hail storms. Paddy harvested, but dried in the field was totally submerged in the water causing loss to the farmer. The farmers who have paid the crop insurance premium are entitled to get compensation for the crop loss. Those farmers who have recently availed the crop loan would be able to get compensation.
