Traders have urged the Madhya Pradesh government to bring wheat under its flagship price deficit scheme, the Bhavantar Yojna, to maintain supply in spot markets. Wheat crop is expected smaller this year as farmers shifted to chana. If government would procure wheat on minimum support price plus bonus, it will hit supply in spot markets and ultimately hurt trade.
