Ukraine continues to increase export of corn starch. Over the first five months of the current 2017/18 season (September-January), corn starch exports from Ukraine reached more than 23.9 KMT. This is 17% higher than last season. Indonesia, European Union, Saudi Arabia remained the main importers. UAE also increased purchases significantly this season and joined the leaders in import of Ukrainian corn starch. As a reminder, in the 2016/17 MY, Ukraine exported more than 57.2 KMT of corn starch that was twice as much as in the previous season (29.1 KMT in 2015/16). It should be noted that corn starch production keeps growing in Ukraine. In 2017, around 90 KMT were produced that was 28% more than a year before.
