Most Ukrainian regions have started the 2017 grain harvest, threshing 3.7 million tonnes of grain with an average yield of 3.16 tonnes. Farmers have harvested 1.2 million hectares of grain as of July 11. Ukrainian grain area came to 14.3 million hectares in 2017, including 6.28 million of wheat, 4.47 million of maize, 2.46 million of barley and around 1 million hectares of other grains and cereals. The ministry said farmers have harvested 1.4 million tonnes of wheat, 2.0 million tonnes of barley, 294,000 tonnes of peas and 235,000 tonnes of rapeseed. Weather forecasters estimate at 59 million to 62 million tonnes, including 23 million to 25 million tonnes of wheat.
